Welsh sports fans have been spoiled this weekend. On Friday, there was Wales vs England in the Six Nations rugby, a fascinating encounter even for a rugby novice such as myself.  Then there was the not-so-small matter of the South Wales derby on Sunday. This is a rivalry that begun almost 100 years ago, and has deep significance for both clubs. Some may even argue that the rivalry is based more on mutual hatred than respect.  One thing is for sure, sparks fly whenever these two sides meet. Read more »

Swansea city enjoyed a winning start to 2011 after completing the double over Brendan Rogers’ old team, Reading. Darren Pratley’s 65th minute goal was enough to secure all three points for the Swans as they climbed up to second place with the teams around them failing to secure maximum points. The first half saw Swansea play the better football but barely troubling the reading goalkeeper, the only notable shot on target that Swansea had was when Pratley crossed it in for Orlandi, but his diving header was straight at Adam Federici.
