Varsity 2010
So it's that time of year again: 'The Big V', as some call it, but most of us will know it as VARSITY.
SWANSEA v CARDIFF
Attended by thousands of students, the event involves over 20 sports teams who will battle it out for the Varsity trophy, climaxing in the evening with the rugby held in the Liberty Stadium; home of the Ospreys and Swansea City FC. The after-party, held in Play nightclub, is being hosted by Dave Pearce (of Radio 1 and MTV fame) and Snap (best known for hits such as, 'Rhythm is a Dancer' and 'I've got the Power') where teams and supporters alike can celebrate or commiserate the outcome of the day.
Xtreme Radio will be covering the event, which is back on Swansea soil after a long stint with our rivals, Cardiff, from 12pm midday. We will be broadcasting the results as they come in, so those of you that couldn't make it down to the games can find out how your teams are faring.
Also, if you have an account, are you following @varsity2010 on Twitter? Our sports team will be tweeting all the results as well, so there's no excuse not to keep up-to-date on the shenanigans of the big day!
With the quite fitting quote, "Victory is swee
test when you've known defeat", adopted by Varsity organisers being used to drum up hype for the event, there's only one thing left to say:
GAME ON
